FAQs

How do I book?

We don't yet have an online booking system in place so if you'd like to book a tour, please contact us and we'll email you a booking form.  Alternatively, you can give us a call on +251 (0)118 333950 or +251 (0)910 03 50 18.

If I book a tour, when do I have to pay for it?

When you book with us, we ask for a 15% deposit, with the remainder to be paid 8 weeks before departure.  If you book less than 8 weeks before your departure, we ask for full payment upon booking.

Is there a minimum or maximum group size?

For our group tours, the minimum group size is 3 people and the maximum is usually 10 people.  When you book your place on a group tour, we will let you know whether it is guaranteed to run.  In the event that there are insufficient bookings to run a tour, we will inform you at least 8 weeks prior to the advertised departure date and refund you in full or offer you an alternative tour.

Can I travel with my children?

For our trekking tours, we ask that all participants are aged 18 or over, but for our more general sightseeing group tours we accept children aged 12 and above, provided that they are accompanied at all times by a responsible guardian.  If you wish to travel with younger children, we request that you book a private tour as your needs and abilities may differ from others.  Please bear in mind that facilities for young children are limited in Ethiopia, particularly in more remote or rural areas.

Do I need travel insurance?

Yes.  Venture Ethiopia Tours and Travel requires all clients to have insurance cover.  Accidents, medical emergencies or other problems can occur on holiday in any country and the resulting costs can be significant. Travel insurance is there for your peace of mind in case something goes wrong, and it should cover any activities that you are planning to participate in.

Why do you need my passport number and nationality?

At Venture Ethiopia Tours and Travel, the safety of our customers whilst touring with us is paramount. Having this information means that in the event of any unforeseen incidents or emergencies that require us to contact the relevant organisation/country representative, we have everything to hand for them to put any plan in to action quickly and effectively.

What happens if my outward or homeward flights are delayed?

If your outward flight is significantly delayed, we will do everything we can to ensure you miss as little as possible, but please bear in mind flexibility in our itineraries may be limited by the needs of the rest of the group.  If your homeward flight is significantly delayed, we will again do what we can to help, although we can not be responsible for any additional expenses incurred.
